This solution contain only 10% Propylene Glycol to help reduce the greasy residue and help prevent skin irritation. In addition to the low PG all solutions have a small amount of natural Glycerin to help aid in the moisturizing of the scalp. Glycerin is highly "hygroscopic", which means that it absorbs water from the air. This helps reduce the drying of the scalp caused by the alcohol used to deliver the Minoxidil. The alcohol in the solution dries within a few minutes, and the Glycerin and Azelaic Acid in the solution are left with a slight stickiness until they are absorbed into the scalp, which this helps to increase delivery of the Minoxidil and Azelaic Acid.
Propylene Glycol
1. Is the oily ingredient that most people have a reaction to not Minoxidil.
2. Max allowable percentage of PG is 50%.
3. All store Brand 5% solutions have a mixture with 50% PG.
4. PG is much cheaper than Alcohol but is needed to get a 5% solution.
5. PG isn't the best carrier to transport the Minoxidil, Alcohol is.
6. Slightly higher soluble level for Minoxidil Vs, Alcohol.

DHT (Dihydrogen Testosterone) is formed from the combination of the hormone testosterone and the enzyme 5-Alpha-reductase. Azelaic Acid blocks the 5 alpha reductase which prevents the conversion of Testosterone into DHT.
